A new day a new haiku
Inhale the drenched air
Soaking up the welcome rain
Standing in the dirt
Between thunderstorms
Strong meadow grasses rise up
A burning fever
There’s not enough time
To clamber up every tree
But how can I choose?
Through silver meadows
With moths and bats and spiders
Dance in the moonlight
Cerulean clouds
Sucked into the setting sun
Meet the moody moon
Weaving my own way
To reach for the stars above
Always falling short
Though we’re home again
Wonder what’s round the next bend
Never reach the end
Rising above all
There’s peace and tranquility
In your ancient boughs
Slip through my fingers
Twilight days. I will see you
On the other side
Across the paddock
Rabbits chase their long shadows
I try to lure them
Let the birds teach you
Stop thinking and start living
And don’t try, just be
Slowly chip away
Step by step and brick by brick
Just never give up
