A new day a new haiku
Through this weathered skin
Winding on our weary way
To where we begin
Hold it together
Tarnished by the evening sun
Holding us apart
Carry me downstream
In the clear evening shadows
Where do the days go?
Following the line
To where twisted brambles climb
Running out of time
Between day and night
The light of another world
Carries us beyond
Between blue blankets
Frost settles in for the night
Can I hibernate?
From ice dusted fields
The will of the wisp arose
Luring us away
Mired in murky marsh
The hidden heron spies us
Invasive species
The deceit of dusk
A dim shroud to hide behind
As I slip away
So soon the sun sets
Slides below the horizon
On the shortest day
Molten branches bend
Silver trees drop golden leaves
Circles have no end
Follow me down here
Between the weeping birch trees
Slip into the lake
