A new day a new haiku

Look up to the sky Stretching into the distance Open up your mind
Time stops for no man He rolls ever into night So just be present
The last ray of light Leaves on a deserted shore Heavy eyelids close
Eastern star shines bright I’m resolving into night Tomorrow I might
Giving up the fight I’m dissolving into light Day turns into night
Deep inside your heart Turn this golden light to wood For another year
Feel warm sun on skin Soak in the burgeoning glow Save for tomorrow
Darkness spreads a cloak Over the sparse wilderness Eye the Western sky
Though we may be bound To the base and lowly ground Sometimes stars shine through
Hiding in the woods Sheltered by these tallest trees Silence holds my gaze
Turning in half-light Wait for the dusk to settle Venus in the east
If I recycle Old ideas into new ones Do they shine or rust?
