A new day a new haiku

Every door is closed And each road is a dead end I burnt my bridges
Resting in the ditch And though I know it’s futile Reaching for the stars
Rooted to this earth I can’t change the wind and rain I can change my mind
As we wind our way Through ever changing seasons Years are made of days
Questions unanswered A hungry hole in my soul Puzzles left unsolved
Between thunderstorms Strong meadow grasses rise up A burning fever
Don’t give up on fun Soaking up the evening sun Take it as it comes
How many more years Will you spread your canopy? Take me to the sea
How soon I forget To look beyond my own stance So hopelessly flawed
Bleeding sap runs clear My sorrow outweighs your pain Falling to the ground
What would a bird sing If it had to sing alone? Only the trees know
Shine in the twilight Through the mists of doubt and fear Make me who I am
