A new day a new haiku

As I hide inside A fallen tree, I wonder What it means to be
Take a look backwards As the sun begins to set Ask how have you grown
If I sing to trees They never seem to listen A long lost howling
Clinging still tighter To this crusty crumbling cliff Wait for the land slip
The frozen wind goes From my head down to my toes To my very bones
Deep inside your heart Turn this golden light to wood For another year
A sleepy giant Climbing frame, insect hotel Clean air factory
Twigs tangle my hair Dirt invades my fingernails Weeds entwine my sleeves
Is this a mirror Or am I disappearing In gathering mist?
When the days get cold Our hearts turn in on themselves Insulated love
Gnarled and twisted limbs Stoop, droop, stop – and then drop To where they began
Keep chipping away At that great looming mountain Time turns stone to dust
