A new day a new haiku
Thwarted by my pride
A virus creeping inside
Don’t cry and don’t try
Once I went outside
Bathed in warm sunlight, but now
We are stuck at home
I twist and I twine
I bend and I bind myself
I clamber and climb
Let go of the day
Melting, fading, drift away
Colours turn to grey
As the grass grows long
So will I be forgotten
This I remember
Soft flowers cascade
And break up these sharp edges
With violet cloud spray
Lined up on the stave
And by fear and strife smitten
My own wrath assuage
Beneath the red glow
Do we make our own choices
Or do they make us?
Canvas shadows say
It’s gonna be a good day
Come whatever may
We all look elder
If the mountain turned to ash
Wood yew pine fir me?
Every where we go
Swaying clouds of chervil spray
Musky opaque scent
Each day is the same
But the sunsets always change
Still treading water
A creeping speedwell
Begins the transformation
From lawn to meadow
Warty visitors
Leaping through the vegetables
Welcome any time!
A small simple home
Closer to the green garden
Comfortable creatures
I wish I could share
This apple blossom. I hope
To share the apples
A crack in the sky
Letting fears out and light in
Carry me away
Never cast a clout
Cast doubt on every forecast
‘Til the may is out
Your opening eyes
Start to see your where your world ends
And others begin
Canvas canopies
Dividing us from starlight
Shelter us from dew
Keep reminding me
To cherish the every day
Before they are gone
Lurid lush lime leaves
Freshly torn by a spring breeze
What is this disease?
Every day I walk
In Sisyphus’ footsteps
I walk every day
Alone together
United by distance
Different worlds in one
