A new day a new haiku
Our thoughts can transcend
Everyday mundanity
If we look beyond
This picture could be
From a thousand years ago
But for the people
Calico clouds cry
A fine mist in the moonlight
Why do we ask why?
If a life has
No responsibilities
Can it have purpose?
Would you want to live
If every day was the same?
For how much longer?
As a beating heart
This life newly emerging
Shines through your soft skin
Open up your eyes
While we are alive. Don’t think
This moment is right
From Staffordshire clay
These simple fired tiles
Keep us dry again
Happy golden days
Arise as memories fade
A phoenix from flames
Balmy summer nights
Roses arose in surprise
They were pretty wild
Beneath my coarse shell
I am smooth and pale and clean
No more shall I rot
An infestation
Is just a feast to attract
Hungry predators
Through my clouded eyes
Warm shadows streak cream canvas
The longest of days
Does a flower care
If we admire her beauty?
It’s her own reward
Legs whipped and stung by
Thorns, thistles, brambles, nettles
Summer run hazards
Make me cross the line
Take your time; I will take mine
Break your fall; I’m fine
Cut me down to size
A grim and grisly surprise
You should try a scythe
As the daylight fades
Twisting though a misty maze
We’ve seen better days
Climb up a mountain
Climb up a tree, just please stop
Climbing over me
What kind of team does
It take to grow an apple
And how can I join?
We drift on the breeze
Dispersing like seeds, faces
Lost, old, forgotten
A silent landscape
Speechless and still, soft yet strong
She sings her own song
Slowly, silently
We let our lives slip away
Sluggish sleepwalkers
Up on Gorsey Hill
Standing in old crow’s castle
We can see the past
