A new day a new haiku
If I lay to rest
All my inner saboteurs
What is left of me?
Don’t over think it
Let it all flow naturally
And just simply be
The sweet heady scent
Tumbles down in fragrant clouds
I am home again
Green growing to gold
Barley barely beginning
Sunlight alchemy
If I sing to trees
They never seem to listen
A long lost howling
Slowly I will stack
Hour on hour, day upon day
Then the winter comes
There is no ending
Forget the destination
Embrace the journey
Tell me your story
How, why, when did you get here?
Where are you going?
Everyone creates
Carving days into a life
So be creative
If I lay aside
All hopes and expectations
Who do I become?
Just lay back and let
The route of least resistance
Carry me away
Wild flowers are free
They can’t be sown or planted
They grow naturally
Forget all your plans
Surrender expectations
Be right here right now
Molten light pours out
The hillside is cast in gold
It lives on in me
Clinging still tighter
To this crusty crumbling cliff
Wait for the land slip
We are just water
Here for a moment, then on
Flow to the next fall
Let ideas ferment
Turn and see what’s underneath
We’re ruminatimg
I may lightly float
In forgotten airy tunes
Woven into clouds
Who owns this flower?
When does robbery and theft
Become possession?
In polished limestone
History reverberates
I’ve been here before
Someday we will rise
Into the darkening sky
Take a different guise
Long summer sunsets
Slowly burnt into memory
These are happy scars
Quiet backwaters
Bug’s unknowable chatter
None of this matters
In the cool waters
Bask in sepia sunlight
Resting stone cold still
