In an empty sky

Your melting Icarus wings

Rolling darkly overhead

A murder of crows

The Earth and her moon

Spin and rotate together

Symbiotically 

Golden daffodils

Following the moon

Whispers in the night

Winding through secret dark lanes
Only in starlight

Solitary heron

This hazy grey evening light

Belongs to your kind

Everything stood still

To watch the birds glide

My arboreal old friend

A burning orange
Hangs behind budding branches

Long lost melodies

Reverberate from ruins

A midnight vigil

In a soupy mist

In a sterile pool

So far from the teaming sea

Low pressure rolls in

My paper bag eyes

Flutter and swoop as a bird
