From the cold waters
Crawling out of toxic waste
And into the fire
A new day a new haiku
From the cold waters
Crawling out of toxic waste
And into the fire
Behind these dark eyes
Where the deepest thoughts reside
This is where we hide
On the horizon
Orion lying in wait
For his winter prey
Yellowing birch leaves
Scattered through the tangled twigs
Autumnal garlands
From the pitch darkness
Broken voices calling out
Irredeemable
The gleaming bronze sky
Searching for any way out
Of this metal box
See through my thin skin
Red rivers run round and round
A tight nervous web
Now as the year falls
Soaking up the last sun drops
Clinging to bare limbs
As ice crystals grow
Between tiny little cracks
They tear them apart
After compromise
Underneath your dark disguise
Hidden in my lies
Smokey eyes sting red
Tired tears tear us apart
As sparks fly upwards
Spreading up the trees
Setting everything alight
Autumn burns like fire
The heart of the storm
We give each other shelter
Under broken wings
From the old stone walls
To the wide flat horizon
Through Ulysses’ eyes
Indifferent waters
Envelope my tired limbs
Sink slowly under
Lights on black water
Dizzy in the confusion
Crossed wires sparks fly
On a rocky cragg
Withstanding the roaring sea
The lighthouse hermit
The blue horizon
The never ending journey
Invisible gaps
A solar eclipe
Strangers passing in the dark
So close yet so far
Grey mist surrounds me
Carried by ocean currents
Still waters run deep
The last butterflies
Shiver in the painted skies
As the summer dies
Misty apple dew
Glistening on orchard lawns
A morning treasure
Shimmering sand dunes
A never ending river
Turning to mountains
Two lonely voices
Pulling against each other
And speaking to me
