If I play this song
On a never ending loop
Will time just stand still?
A new day a new haiku
If I play this song
On a never ending loop
Will time just stand still?
A sketch of grey twigs
A thousand soft charcoal strokes
Always out of reach
Distant birch trees shine
Shimmering with purple buds
Do I dare to hope?
This roaring river
Drowns out the empty silence
And lulls me to sleep
If I was a cat
Everything would be simple
And I’d be alone
Lonley shallow lives
We just pass each other by
Avoiding the eyes
Sleep is for the weak
I want to live all my life
I’ll sleep when I’m dead
You can lift me up
Out of the sinking quagmire
And give me new hope
What kind of haiku
Would a human robot write?
Maybe soon we’ll know
The pale spring sunshine
Full of hope and pure laughter
One missing fragment
In a blank rain cloud
Soak it all up like a sponge
And then wring me out
While I whitewash walls
Paint drops spattered with my tears
Run like upset milk
To live this moment
I abandon all my dreams
Now is all we have
Am I settling
Back into the same routine
While life passes by
Under thick blankets
Never let the fire die
Until the morning
Inbetween showers
We make a quick dash for home
Skipping round puddles
The harder you try
To pull these fingers apart
The faster they stick
On the southern slopes
Meltwater washes my face
Winter turns to spring
When all you have left
Is happiness in memories
Can you enjoy them?
Sliding on blue ice
All my worries melt away
I become the skis
And now we part ways
To the same destination
In parallel lines
Trying to focus
On the good things that I have
Not those that I’ve lost
I landed head first
An ostrich can hide himself
In mountains of snow
Chestnut buds swelling
A squirrel, look a squirrel
Anticipation
