Wails and sobs erupt
And on your quiet heart strings
Play songs of sadness
A new day a new haiku
Wails and sobs erupt
And on your quiet heart strings
Play songs of sadness
From behind dark clouds
Even in the wind and rain
Your sun still shines through
Gnarled and creaking limbs
Bend and bow in winter winds
The old bell still rings
On my left a rock
On my right a harder place
Hateful compromise
Curled up in a ball
A woodlouse hides in the logs
Then burns in the fire
Bleary teary eyes
Battle against the sunrise
New day and new life
Curled up together
Bear and boy beneath the bed
In dreams of wonder
Cloud mountains rising
Silent smoke stack silhouettes
Where are all the trees?
Wrapped up like candy
A hammock sways in the breeze
Drift into sweet dreams
Now the sun is down
The evening turns cool and dark
Mystery rising
Filtered through smoke clouds
Low evening sunlight burns red
Against sun kissed cheeks
A grey heron glides
Low over concrete fields
We drive them away
Climbing to the top
Of an ancient sycamore
To see if I can
Crooked birch trunks gleam
Dark and silver lines against
Fresh new sprays of green
Waning gibbous light
Turns the night grey and silent
But the stars remain
Across Cornish hills
Lazy clouds drift and linger
Darkness calls us home
From our rocky perch
Watching lonely ships anchor
Together moments
Hand springs on fresh grass
Crop circles left by cart wheels
Upside down smiles
Cold saltwater burns
My skin it tingles and shrinks
To my very bones
Lords and ladies stand
Guarding shady woodland paths
Between celendine
A steady heart beats
Limbs floating in suspension
Baby bones strengthen
Attract and repel
Static electricity
Keeping us apart
Adventuring on
Deeper into the forest
Rediscovering
Bright blue bells bouncing
Beneath broken birch branches
Bumblebees begin
