A new day a new haiku
Weave your web of wants
It creeps and crawls in my head
Until I am spent
Now they farm us out
Debt laden and bond yeilding
On a shrinking lead
Dragged across the skies
A sunrise for late sleepers
Now the slow decline
Howls, roars and screeches
Rattle through lonely thickets
A long way from home
Battle through brambles
Fight my way through the forest
When I’m lost I’ve won
I wish the wild wind
Would carry me far away
There is no escape
The crows have all flown
A tree doesn’t make a grove
Underneath are stones
Deep in the wild wood
A creature quietly creeps
Raised haunches cackle
Catch the falling sun
As his silver throne topples
Save his dying breath
Low sun swings around
Laying down long loping lines
We grapple and break
Silent kestrel sighs
Flurry in the purple skies
Falling with the sun
My doubts I suspend
In the twilight I transcend
This is not the end
As sun gives us days
Moon gives months and both give years
Where do the weeks go?
Every day I change
But is it growth or decay?
Return to the clay
Ice crystals stretch out
Drawing strength from the cold air
We turn into stone
The night comes sooner
Sweeps away the dying day
Snuffed out like a flame
The last few birds leave
Setting out for warmer shores
We chamber onwards
Weave and wind our way
As the pioneering birch
We never give up
I die with the day
As I give myself away
I will rise in flames
Every single day
Is an opportunity
How will you use it?
Jack frost gleaming gold
Hoary haired and frozen toed
The year’s getting old
The rosy skies fade
Their soft colours drain away
Into concrete grey
Rising from the mist
The hanging tree looms o’er me
I see what I missed
In day there is night
Even In the darkness you
Feel the bright white light
