A new day a new haiku

Distant mountain peaks Shining as the sun sets peach The saucer moon peeps
My empty echoes Slump against this hollow trunk A bottomless pit
A snowy clearing Remember what was here first A distant echo
A windswept tundra An opening in the sky A fresh perspective
The road doesn’t move Yet it is ever changing There is no now here
Soft silver shafts shine Scattering sunlight sideways Shadows slowly stretch
Seasons cycle on Bound in their ancient routines Why ever can’t I?
Here we stand on guard Watching over the valley These short human lives
When westerly winds Weave whiley winter weather Whither will we wend?
No sun, no moonlight No milk, no teeth, no furnace Whiter than this snow
Sunset sparkles shine Shimmering across soft snow Still silence broken
Across snow oceans Trekking towards the sunset Long shadows drawn out
