Cover me with white Sheets conceal every blemish Absence creates beauty
Follow the oak trees Marching to the horizon Where spring’s secrets lie
I awoke in white A fresh slate, clean my mistakes Look towards the light
Underneath the snow Stamen, stem, leaf and anther Curled up in tight bulbs
If the snow should melt The rivers awayward run When I’m lost, I’ve won
Under snowy sheets Tucked up tight ’til tomorrow We stay warm inside
Day breaks silent ice Grey lake melting violet twice Making a lattice
Everything’s peachy In the early morning light I freeze this moment
It’s not what you have Where you’re from or how you’re made It’s who you become
When I’m in this ground Frozen bones turning to stone You will still be here
There is no progress There is only compromise Is this the right one?
Between day and night The light of another world Carries us beyond
