A new day a new haiku

The still surface slides Below nymphs and larvae hide Water boatmen glide
Infinite choices Flow into my river of Possibility
Rivers and canals Could take us from coast to coast But we’re too busy
Flotsam and jetsam Waft down the restless river Roving waifs and strays
Every river has One single driving purpose To get to the sea
Slip through the culvert Let the current carry you And your cares away
A river of light Carried slowly to the sea Watch it slip away
Though the river bends It wanders and winds and wends But it never ends
A minnow dancing Through the weeds and rushes past The reeds and rushes
Slowly we amble Meander the river banks Wander in wonder
I long to paddle All along this long river To the Pacific
High rise and inside Behind misty mountains hide I go there in mind
