A new day a new haiku

The birds duck and dive And Willow trees beam and thrive The river’s alive
Take me to the stream Where living waters run deep A place of cool calm
Follow the water Running to the deep blue sea Inevitably
In freezing torrents Meander down the mountain Swept back to the sea
Now we drift apart Farewell ye wayward brethren I shan’t forget thee
The river carries All of my troubles away And takes me with them
Through empty pupils Searching for a safer shore Carried by currents
Run swiftly downstream Run with me in softer dreams Run to the pale sea
Can’t sing like these birds Don’t shine in the evening sun Should I drift away?
Breathe out, take your time Let the river wash over Twisting twining thoughts
Some drips whirl in pools Some drops rush straight to the sea We all long to be
River ripples run Steadily slip through eddies Washing dreams away
