A new day a new haiku
Most things I forget
The rest melt inside my mind
We are memories
Grasses bend their heads
Under scorching summer sun
These days are the days
Birch in full flourish
A gloamy golden glowing
Going nowhere fast
In these cool waters
Relinquished, revitalised
Still stand sure stand still
Under the surface
Simmering fermentation
Hidden thoughts reside
Daylight slips away
Shadows crawl over the fields
Every trouble fades
Goodbye clear blue sky
Closing in on closing out
Hello warm and dry
Water rings, scratches
Of all the years that have passed
The table bears marks
Encased in new skin
Against the cruel elements
To stand against time
Harvest is coming
All I have is a hammer
Nails, nails, nails, nails, nails
The darkness collapses
As final fragments fracture
I just let them fall
Under lock and key
Trapped inside, betraying mind
Leave it all behind
A crack in the earth
An empty void of escape
Swallow me whole up
On familiar paths
Can I get out of these ruts?
Is there room to grow?
Just do a little
Practice every single day
The destination
Sun settled silence
All around things are growing
Glowing in the sun
The last light escapes
Don’t let the days run away
Silver skies turn grey
Low sun strikes soft hairs
Summer slowly fragmenting
Summer seeds scatter
Can you save this day?
Can you capture a moment?
Water runs away
Hedged in on all sides
I stay within the compound
Hatching escape plans
Nestling deep in
The over growing garden
A lost hideaway
A voice in the dark
Should I listen or reject?
Are you on my side?
Where does the sun go
When it falls into the ground
Does it make a sound?
Put your paw into
My pink and glorious glove
Speak not of fox bane
