A new day a new haiku
My empty seed head
Dried up beyond usefulness
And falling slowly
Between the raindrops
We wind our wet way upwards
Where will the ends meet?
Roam the countryside
Somewhere my roots can take hold
Where do I belong?
Focus on the good
And the rest will fade away
Time will tell the truth
Flowers always bloom
Even if nobody sees
So don’t hide away
Strains of an old tune
Carry me back through the years
I feel just the same
In the autumn glow
Where the wilder branches grow
Let everything go
As the days fly by
Something is eating at me
Could I be more free?
As time drips away
Seconds to hours to days
There is no present
Into the distance
Between green fields and grey clouds
I’m still holding on
Sometimes good ideas
Don’t survive in the real world
And it’s no one’s fault
Old footprints ploughed up
Straight lines across the landscape
We forge a new path
In the fresh long hope
Of early morning shadows
The new day unfurls
Dark dew on rose hips
A recurring memory
A question answered
A rainy graveyard
Is being here without yew
Worth being at all?
We’re at the dawn of
Another beautiful day
Yet sadness creeps in
What is happiness?
Just chemicals in your brain
Chemistry is hard
Using distant spires
We navigate these wild fields
Here I lose myself
Without a winter
There would be no autumn leaves
To burn up my heart
We should make the most
Of this September sunshine
Before its too late
Seasons lumber by
Though they change we don’t know why
The leaf’s final sigh
A winding river
Life flows on, unstoppable
Into the unknown
A fleeting moment
Captured and frozen in time
By the photo trap
Our brave hearts alight
As we descend to darkness
These days were our days
