A new day a new haiku
Pure joy overflows
In a world of black and white
You bring the colour
In the dark I fall
From this cave I never call
To the woods I crawl
When the journey’s right
If you get there matters not
Just keep on going
So much left undone
Many more mountains to climb
Ere I am finished
I will tear you down
Trample you into the ground
Never make a sound
Open up my eyes
Reflecting the clear blue skies
Of a new sun rise
Every possession
Entraps you and enslaves you
You don’t need this stuff
Whatever I give
It has been given to me
I can’t begrudge it
When I am this soil
All memory fades into
This moment, this now
From inside this cloud
One step forwards, two steps back
Nothing to forget
Still hangling on to
Something we can’t rely on
Sometimes change can hurt
With the dying leaves
Take me back where I can breathe
Back where I belong
From forest to field
Flora and fauna have fled
Fertile to futile
Stuffed full of stuffed stuff
The stuff you stuff soon stuffs you
I say just stuff stuff
Black crows murmuring
Each furrow holds a story
Who knows the ending?
You are in red leaves
You are in little trees, you
Are in everything
The years fade away
Only memories remain
There’s no going back
So now we’re somehow
Swimming through cyclamen seas
Sublimely saline
Wherever I go
Or when I walk through the past
You are always there
Now I’ve gone to seed
Another invasive weed
Scattered on the breeze
Weeds are just flowers
That are still looking out for
The right place to grow
Floating lost at sea
Though I try to change myself
Some things never change
Deep down in the pit
My yearning churning stomach
I know I’m toxic
Brambles start to rust
And then vanish in a gust
Summer turns to dust
