Between horses jaws
It can been little or much
Teeth clamp, chomp and chew
Fluttering from fire
Lifted like a lithe dragon
You glide as butter
Furry feral foe
Often opening our orts
Xanthodontous skulk
Between dark rafters
Attached upside down by claws
Travel by sonar
Priceless potential
Inside ripe and ready fruit
Promising new life
Weave a cunning trap
Everything is connected

Invisible, inflaming

Hide Winter’s bare shame

Every sacred cemetery
With poison berries
Frothy as pea soup
Our view hidden in thick clouds
