A new day a new haiku
Am I of the land
Or still working against it
And where is the line?
My whole body aches
From my nose down to my toes
My mind is at rest
Upon these brown hills
Interwoven stories knot
Entangle and merge
Gentle purple clouds
The same scent our fathers smelt
Floats through the woodland
Long low lines of light
Illuminate parachutes
Carried on the wind
I hold myself back
Sabbotage my every act
And fall through the cracks
In one thousand suns
Lift me up across the lake
This was my mistake
New album out now
As light mist rises
From the freshly fallen rain
Float away downstream
Down the woodland path
Down into the fairy dells
Hidden in the downs
Little woodland folk
Hiding behind tiny doors
Wait for dusk to fall
Fresh sprouts of chervil
A bovine delicacy
Grown in abundance
From yellow flowers
Into our final hour
Scattered in the wind
Into a black hole
I’ve had enough, I give up
Leave me dead inside
Swim against the tide
Rolling slowly down the hill
Kick against the pricks
Take my precious time
Slowly crawl all over you
Until you fall down
With my own two hands
Rising from nothing but dust
Ideas come to life
Even at the edge
Of this chalky green cliff top
The bells ever toll
Deep in the blue sea
Beneath a hazy green mist
The bells toll for me
Slowly we retreat
To this crumbling sanctuary
Between the hail storms
Bushes and branches
Consumed by flaming flowers
Burning bold and bright
While holding my phone
I tripped over and fell down
And took this photo
An inner circle
The everlasting balance
Between light and dark
Newly balanced legs
Teeter, totter then tumble
Back into the sea
A hole in the sand
Sunk inside blackness of time
An empty circle
