A new day a new haiku
Tangled in hedgerows
Taking over old green roads
Where new lives arose
Can life be simple
Or is this complexity
Inevitable?
Life in fast forward
I’m already in sight of
The finishing line
Midwinter mist still
Rising from the spreading mud
We don’t need these things
New ideas sprouting
Hardened by the wind and frost
Will they ever fruit?
What have I to show
As the day draws to a close?
I gave it away
Titans rise and fall
While lowly peasants endure
Less talk more action
Lone long-eared lapin
Lose yourself in lawless lawns
Lithe lurchers lurk low
Rainbow refractions
Rhythmic reverberation
Ripples in a pool
Weight me down, way down
Anchors hold me hard and fast
Deep down in the lake
Lonely waifs and strays
Meandering aimlessly
Downtrodden downstream
Take all our courage
Take advantage, stack it up
Make the fire burn
Just one of those days
Through the dusky winter haze
Meet you in the maze
You cannot hold back
The bramble and elder trees
Forever. Relent
Even the tree tops
Are dwarfed by vast open skies
There is no escape
I followed this brook
Further down it disappeared
Into a black hole
Just cross the water
A whole other universe
Alas I cannot
Lurking in shadow
Skulking from field to hedgerow
In a black furrow
World turned upside down
After the hurricane ends
We’ll be in blue skies
Beneath leafy crowns
Thick boughs tangle up the clouds
All lives intertwine
The years slip away
While we’re wasting weeks with wrath
Treasure every day
Every day we live
With someone else’s choices
Help out future you
So what are regrets?
Holding on to things that hurt?
Lessons still unlearnt?
Damp drab dreary days
Scuffling through rusty leaves
Searching for wild life
