A new day a new haiku
Canvas canopies
Dividing us from starlight
Shelter us from dew
Keep reminding me
To cherish the every day
Before they are gone
Lurid lush lime leaves
Freshly torn by a spring breeze
What is this disease?
Every day I walk
In Sisyphus’ footsteps
I walk every day
Alone together
United by distance
Different worlds in one
White stars lift me up
They won’t ever box me in
Spring can’t pass me by
Perfect purple bells
Tumble from the woodland floor
Where did they come from?
Kestrels circling
Locked in a downward spiral
We’ve been here before
I reach for the sun
But I always fall far short
Should I keep trying?
Still in ignorance
We tear the soil apart
In scars that won’t heal
Hidden in treetops
There’s another world to find
If you just look up
I made these sharp stubs
From seasoned sycamore sticks
Harvested last year
I stop to wonder
How does time fly by so fast?
Then we’re off again!
Early morning walks
Remind us that in the end
Everything changes
Fractal ferns unfurl
From forgotten forest floors
For far-off futures
Stitchwort, the bone star
A remedy for side stitch
And meat for adders
Come unto me bees
Pollinate thou my blossom
From whence fruit cometh
Now your makeup’s blurred
And there’s glitter in your hair
Now the moon has gone
I made a new song
Slow everything down
For time passes too quickly
To but take a breath
Dining alfresco
With our last food from Tesco
Pasta and pesto
Once I went outside
Walked and ran in broad daylight
Once I was alive
Like peas in a pod
Ready to ascend new heights
With twisted tendrils
Green bramble stems shoot
As the evening comes alive
Bathed in warm sunlight
The sunset pulled us
Out of our shell and back to
This mystical dell
