A new day a new haiku
We are just water
Here for a moment, then on
Flow to the next fall
Let ideas ferment
Turn and see what’s underneath
We’re ruminatimg
I may lightly float
In forgotten airy tunes
Woven into clouds
Who owns this flower?
When does robbery and theft
Become possession?
In polished limestone
History reverberates
I’ve been here before
Someday we will rise
Into the darkening sky
Take a different guise
Long summer sunsets
Slowly burnt into memory
These are happy scars
Quiet backwaters
Bug’s unknowable chatter
None of this matters
In the cool waters
Bask in sepia sunlight
Resting stone cold still
Over the next hill
Is a better brighter day
Always out of reach
Through these long evenings
Skies fade wysteria grey
Takes my breath away
May your days be full
Of sunshine and happiness
The merriest month
Where do the days go?
Sand slips between my fingers
Where did I go wrong?
Summer opens up
Slowly fern leaves unravel
And stretches daylight
Hiding in the dark
In dank decaying leaf mould
Doubts and fears reside
Steel slides through wet grass
With a sharp biting swish
An extinct insect
Don’t let the thought of
The sunsets you miss, stop you
Enjoying the rest
Another black cloud
Casts shade on the moody sky
When will the wind change?
Gold flows through birch leaves
And lights the gilded evening
Memories remain
I can do nothing
That’s anywhere even close
To this long evening
The sun pulls me out
Into the silent spaces
Between sea and clouds
Why does one wobble
Throw the entire day off course?
Get back on the horse!
Scarce and fragile days
In this singular present
So drink them all in
Don’t over think it
Don’t compare, don’t analyse
Just be your best self
