Above still waters
Thick vapor slowly stirring
These forgotten ghosts
A new day a new haiku
Above still waters
Thick vapor slowly stirring
These forgotten ghosts
Silver wisps of mist
Shimmer on the lake surface
The silent winter
From my gloomy perch
Watching the lowering skies
This lonely city
This little giggle
Leaking from soft balloon cheeks
Portrays your mother
In the candlelight
Your smile shining like the moon
Full and round and bright
Wake, see the sunrise
Another dream is over
Get the fire lit
Trees wave their fingers
To the cerulean skies
Tinged with teal clouds
Misty morning air
Layering the hillside view
Through my bleary eyes
As the fire dies
And the frost starts creeping in
Hunker down deeper
The long dark tunnels
Slowly filling up with gas
While canaries fall
The spaces between
The summer and winter rings
Tell a different tale
A smokey blue haze
Turning thick tree trunks to teal
Another ring forms
Deep in dreary fog
Running to flickering lights
Did I lose my way?
Cold toes frozen nose
Curled up under thick blankets
These are brighter days
Oil swirls in the ice
Like liquid lava layers
Frozen in clear glass
A churning stomach
Distant voices calling me
While I pay my dues
Upon the dark peaks
Fields of burning sunshine play
And I am grateful
Dark suspended clouds
Hang over these final chords
Before the sea change
Another pink heart
Slowly filling up with clouds
Until the clock stops
Like a wild dog
I drove you away again
Just let me hold you
A moth to a flame
My wings keep on getting burnt
Now I am grounded
The wind and the sea
Two old friends sing together
A murmuration
From swaying treetops
Watching the sun falling down
Into orange waves
Fading dusty light
With no contrast or shadow
Gloomy twilight. Dusk.
