Glow my little worm
Screech all night bright wise old owl
Weave you crafty fish
A new day a new haiku
Glow my little worm
Screech all night bright wise old owl
Weave you crafty fish
I’m at the bottom
Water pressing down on me
Covered by the sea
Why do we retreat
To these caves made with clay bricks
The world is out there
On our backs we lay
As the long grass became hay
Blue sky turning grey
Hidden in long grass
Round and yellow and furry
We hunt for the ball
Standing in a line
A million golden ears
Waiting for harvest
Distance tugs heart strings
This is just the gap between
Memories and dreams
A mystic haze floats
Above golden waves of grass
Dispersal vectors
A mystical fog
Swirls through the jungle kingdom
A distant songbird
While wild willows weep
Watch wolves wend winding ways west
Where wind wills we wait
Cool next morning breeze
Silver caterpillar silk
Glistening with you
Icy cold currents
The river is all we need
Swirling round my toes
Sunlight, moonlight, stars
A long distant memory
I’m still holding on
Sun scorched drooping leaves
Withered wilted wan waning
When will it a-rain
Parched, cracked, yellow lips
Hiss and squeal as they suck
From the garden hose
Run under the bridge
Retreat into a sea shell
Take me to the beach
A double edged sword
I led you to the water
You ran yourself through
A steady stream flows
Rumbling, burbling, hiss
Just summer traffic
When summer is gone
There will be another one
Meanwhile I’m waiting
Sunshine teasing me
So many perfect warm days
Stuck on the sofa
These soft summer sounds
Grass seed singing silently
While sprinklers sparkle
Stiff and aching joints
Waiting for the fog to clear
Drag me back to bed
My paper thin skin
Walking on cuckoo egg shells
Pushed over again
A vast empty sky
Hoist the billowing blue sail
Set our course sunward
