A new day a new haiku
On new horizons
Searching for a different view
With the same blue eyes
Lined up in a row
The long awaited day came
Be brave and be kind
Time repeats herself
An everlasting spiral
We still stay the same
Deer leap through the fog
And cower in the thicket
Yet captured by words
Crisp dry dock leaf seeds
Premonitions of the frost
That soon will bite us
Silk spins silently
While we’re weaving wily webs
To trap tomorrow
Wineberry wagtail
Count the sheep into the pen
Terrydiddle den
Trap me in with words
These unscalable fences
Pen me in again
Pierced by fierce dark eyes
An ambush, a surprise
Nowhere left to hide
Early morning sun
Rises from behind the trees
The storm is over
A sliver of sea
Silver lands nearer by half
So close yet so far
Stripy dumbledores
Buzzing bee merry and bright
Chin up now sunshine
The fine salty spray
I wait here while you slumber
Between cloud and sea
How you ground me down
Wound around your little crown
Pound into powder
Run away young stag
Flee from me and all my kind
We were left behind
Stinging eyes of blue
Carried on rising black plumes
An internal bruise
A silent sentry
Eyes scan the brambly hedge
Take cover small mice
Prickly teasels
Clinging to our ankles like
Stickly limpets
A lofty green tree
Growing wild and running free
A quick fickle stream
Bleary eyes smeared with
Mascara line tears, black swan
Another year gone
A few ragged fields
All that remains of the past
There’s no going back
The wise owl awakes
Silently she leaves her roost
Another day fades
Gloomy moody mist
Bearing down in soft ash clouds
As away we drift
From this chalky peak
The weald is still tucked up tight
A misty blanket
