A new day a new haiku

I have lost my way In the woods, in the dark trees I am reaching out
Down a muddy path To the river, to the sea Black clouds follow me
A sunny surprise Warmer autumn days arise Shining in my eyes
Wander the old ways Hunting for hidden answers Finding more questions
Fabled footpaths found Wound around the valley edge Distant hills resound
As soon as school ends We head straight for the grey woods Faded in twilight
I am still walking But do I want to arrive? Not out of the woods
Another day gone Slipping through my fat fingers Evening sun though leaves
Lost in tangled roots In and out of twisted trunks Meet me in the maze
As the daylight fades Twisting though a misty maze We’ve seen better days
When you’re trapped in woods Can’t see the trees for the leaves Give up, fall asleep
Lying in her lair Waiting for the wolves to were Secret silent snare
