A new day a new haiku

Each start is an end Everything’s a beginning Where the willow bends
Spring is never late It comes just as it’s ready And it always comes
At last the buds break Leaves tumble down lithe branches Fresh catkins burst out
Spring from underground Where all winter you were bound Now you are set free
The willow tree turns From brown to burning yellow Banishing sadness
We weave windy ways Where wispy willows whisper Washed with white water
Discarded catkins Flotsam in a fluffy fog Floating fast and free
Slow everything down For time passes too quickly To but take a breath
Fuzzy evening light Illuminates new catkins In a final glow
From crimson to gold Last year’s growth scratches across My evergreen eyes
Red barked willow wands Secret whispers in the breeze Whipped up by wild winds
