A new day a new haiku

Water ebbs and flows From cloud, to mountain, to sea We close all the gaps
Scattered sky sparks fly Darting in and out of sight Like curious moths
At the water’s edge The muted shades of winter Was it all a dream?
In silver shadows Racing raging rushing waves Just let yourself go
In the greasy gloom Tin can rust and plastic bags We are the virus
Without a paddle I am caught in an eddy Forever turning
Drain all my regrets Into this icy water Will I drown or freeze?
Sunset particles Unfurl across still waters Bind us together
The surface layer However hard you stare, you See only yourself
Under this false gleam Lurking in the murky stream A long lost day dream
Islands in the sky Reflecting another world Dark waters run deep
