A new day a new haiku
If you want to shine
You need hard work, polish and
Plenty of mistakes
Ten people possess
One hundred fingers and toes
And many light hands
Many legs and limbs
Lift heavy loads together
Laughter makes lighter
We all need a nest
A place to curl up and hide
Or watch life go by
Let go of today
And welcome in tomorrow
Yesterday has gone
Traverse the canyon
Travail brings it’s own reward
Travel mountain peaks
A giant puzzle
Where you make your own pieces
And nothing quite fits
Just round the corner
Rising from the garden waste
Secret hiding place
On millions of straws
Even the heaviest head
Can rest safe and sound
Some climb others jump
Some hammer others persuade
We pull together
In the failing light
Underneath scattered photons
Life is being lived
Though the days are short
Keep on walking on and up
A little each day
Shiny silver eye
Shining down inside my hide
There is always hope
So I lay down bored
Floored by tongue in groove antics
I think we nailed it
Most things I forget
The rest melt inside my mind
We are memories
Goodbye clear blue sky
Closing in on closing out
Hello warm and dry
Encased in new skin
Against the cruel elements
To stand against time
Harvest is coming
All I have is a hammer
Nails, nails, nails, nails, nails
Nestling deep in
The over growing garden
A lost hideaway
I will gently rise
And softly call to the trees
For from these I came
Under the rafters
Up and up and up we go
Hanging from the eaves
