A new day a new haiku
In the dark shadow
Of the looming mountain side
Find a place to hide
Which way the road goes
We can never really know
Only a shadow
Canvas shadows say
It’s gonna be a good day
Come whatever may
In your black pupils
In the shadow of apples
In my own mind’s eye
Without the sunlight
Slanting sideways, long and low
There’s only shadow
The shadow below
Is just a dim reflection
Of the light above
