A new day a new haiku

Seething frothing waves Tumbling over themselves Crashing into me
Three hours to cover The sandscape with rolling waves Three hours to wonder
Turned by waves and tossed I cling to the bow and hope Waiting for a voice
Salty sea spray stings Take away these broken things Spread my open wings
Still still sea waters Stretching out from shore to shore In silent reaches
In this burning heat Slip into the glassy sea And wash my mind clear
Another black cloud Casts shade on the moody sky When will the wind change?
Black waves roll and break Against cold lines of grey slate No hope or remorse
Up in the crow’s nest Would you get tired of watching Blue lines fade to grey?
Only in my mind There I left myself behind In the bluest sea
A sliver of sea Silver lands nearer by half So close yet so far
The fine salty spray I wait here while you slumber Between cloud and sea
