A new day a new haiku

Sharp blades newly shorn Sweep the surface of the lawn Seasonal seeds reborn
Everywhere the eyes Do I meet expectations? Wilt in the limelight
Slowly I will stack Hour on hour, day upon day Then the winter comes
Everyone creates Carving days into a life So be creative
Steel slides through wet grass With a sharp biting swish An extinct insect
What wonderful webs We’re weaving below bare toes Symbiotic scythes
It’s been a long time Since I last hung up my scythe Riding out the storm
I catch the last sun Seal it in to everything Store it for winter
My bare feet can feel Wet grass giving way to steel Is this new day real?
The scythe slides softly With gentle grace, through the grass Sunshine alchemy
When the scythe comes down And severs the world in two Time himself stands still
An obsolete tool Outmoded and outdated Just like its owner
