A new day a new haiku

A pair of Mallards Weave and work a winding way Through shedding rushes
These faded rushes Wake inherited memories From deep inside me
In the morning chill Fragile flags shiver and shake Each year they return
Soft cats’ tails shiver Slowly shed a thousand seeds Into the wind’s whim
Rescue me again Drag me through reeds and rushes Save me from myself
