A new day a new haiku

Another winter Left my skin retted and wan Just another sulk
These faded rushes Wake inherited memories From deep inside me
In the morning chill Fragile flags shiver and shake Each year they return
Copper cattail down In the marshy bog. Long nights Will outgrow the days
Rescue me again Drag me through reeds and rushes Save me from myself
