A new day a new haiku
As momentum builds
An overwhelming tide turns
You can’t hold it back
Deep in the dark woods
Where gloomy shadows still lurk
Enter if you dare
Blossom turn to mould
Turns to worm food, turns to dust
I know its over
Whitewashed with blossom
Bursting from coal black branches
Time for a spring clean
Hold it together
Lest the rain wash us away
Feet in miry clay
Lines grow deeper still
As with every passing year
Make them with laughter
Rescue me again
Drag me through reeds and rushes
Save me from myself
Black thorny blossom
Breaks dark spidery hedgerows
Into foamy spray
Slowly softly sink
Drip, drop, drift, descend downwards
And settle beneath
Lining your pockets
To pay for things you don’t need
What price is freedom?
An evening stroll
Low light through freshly cut grass
Making memories
Our leafy brothers
Always watching over us
So we chop them down
The magic of fire
Transforming oak into ash
We will rise like smoke
Is this just a dream?
Am I awake or asleep?
Falling into light
Another day fades
Weeks turn into months again
The years roll away
Tufted turf tussocks
Clump in hillocks and hummocks
Of fecund verdure
And when we’re gone
We’ll go back to where we’re from
Rising in the smoke
Like a little weed
I’ll be climbing up your walls
Until they fall down
I’m up in the clouds
But I can’t hear a sound here
Waiting to be found
The sun is calling
Another day is dawning
The hope of morning
Glossy grey green veins
Creep slowly across old skin
New sap arising
A new life cut short
Devoured lost and broken
Another man’s meat
The sharp fresh green scent
Of spring Elder breaking out
Like poison acid
Rain makes a soft spray
Against a background of grey
Another wet day
