A new day a new haiku
Carpet crop circles
Sun faded wallpaper frames
Naked noose bulbs hang
Corn among barley
Somewhere our paths have diverged
We are divided
In the harvest moon
Thresh, winnow and scatter me
I have gone to seed
Sunrise and sunset
Simple things for simple minds
Summer never ends
And I will burn up
Down to the ground, to the dust
From the inside out
Cow parsley fractals
Fork and divide and forget
Into the night sky
Not all flowers bloom
Not every bear hibernates
Not each bird can sing
Evening sun shines low
Streaming through open windows
Where do photons go?
Freshly mown grass stems
Turning to dusty dry hay
Petrichor rising
Tenaciously leap
Buried in the great divide
Deeper underground
Turn to face the sun
Chased by shadows ‘cross the lawn
Heliotropic
A landscape unchanged
A collective memory
Centuries roll by
All those years you grew
This is what became of you
There is no undo
A dusky veil hangs
Clouding over my own heart
Hidden from myself
Filter through green leaves
Searching strains of melody
Drift into old trees
We weave wily weeds
While westerly winds winnow
With willow withys
Everything changes
Fails or grows or fades or flows
So never make plans
Hanging out in lines
Gently rocking in the breeze
Dry those tired eyes
Slow down there sunshine
Just let yourself take a breath
You’ll see so much more
Barely hearing ears
Beat out a better rhythm
Beneath burnished bronze
Oh thin little house
Behind a bright crimson door
Tell me your story
Clean sweeps cut long grass
A razor sharp blade bristles
The scythe is the way
I wish I could shine
If only for just one day
And then fade away
Skip though the meadow
Carefree frolicking scamper
Chasing butterflies
