A new day a new haiku

I hear the mountains Calling across the valley To which should I heed?
Craggy dark edges Cut through the cloudy skyline Above and below
Endless mountains stretch A still silent wilderness Melting in twilight
Distant mountain peaks A fading hazy memory Was it all a dream?
Towering mountains As far as the eye can see Now floating away
Around foggy lochs Through misty mountain passes We wend our way north
A windswept tundra An opening in the sky A fresh perspective
On the horizon Lie visions of mountain peaks And wild fire smoke
