A new day a new haiku

Through silence I’m hemmed By the hedges I’m condemned I try to transcend
Sunlight comes and goes Through small gaps and chinks it flows Driving out darkness
Slip through the hedgerow Dart in between the rain drops A silver minnow
Curled up in the hedge Hiding from the wind and rain Tramping new terrain
Underneath layers Unspoken expectations Untamed and broken
Late autumn sunshine Turns the hedgerow slowly brown Falling fast and free
A silent sentry Eyes scan the brambly hedge Take cover small mice
