A new day a new haiku

My fruit is bitter All seed and no juicy flesh Feed me to the birds
Out of the hedgerow All life will flourish and follow Confused, I follow
Why do we create? To keep the daemons at bay? To find our own place?
Seedtime rolls around Sunlight is warm and hopeful Maybe this year
Hawthorn turning pink In the dizzying dry heat We are warm at last
Now the May is out And the frost has lost this bout I will cast my clout
Never cast a clout Cast doubt on every forecast ‘Til the may is out
Once I went outside Walked and ran in broad daylight Once I was alive
Hawthorn pens me in Reaching for a brighter day I fall back again
