A new day a new haiku
Build bigger bridges
Because bigger is better
Bury head beneath
I’ll eat you alive
Devour your selfish pride
And crush your insides
With plenty of time
Patience and perseverance
You can move mountains
September squalls shake
Turning leaves and ripe berries
As they tumble down
Rolling in off the fields
Rain clouds spatter dust to mud
Winter bog begins
Every day we climb
A little higher, further
Make sure to look down
Out of the black swamp
Alder branches twist and creep
Into heart shaped cracks
September crackles
Dried and spent and at its end
We prepare for rain
Celestial light
Spattered stars and smear of moon
Do they watch me too
Under the oak tree
A mist of purple heather
Shelter from the storm
Encroaching concrete
Surrounds the last wilderness
Nowhere left to hide
Can you hear the deer?
If you close your eyes and stop
Can you smell heather?
Keep those wheels turning
Keep trying and keep learning
Keep that fire burning
If we all rested
One brother on another
We would stand stronger
Life, light and laughter
Shines out of your little soul
And now you are four
Everything must end
Yet the sun will rise again
Who will greet the east?
Keep it locked inside
Find another place to hide
High tide and dry eyed
Don’t make me face this
Leave me in my chrysalis
I am still half baked
Already autumn
Sets alight summer bracken
In low smoke clouds
There are many ways
To make dreams reality
None of them is chance
A goose head arrow
Sent low through a morning glow
Translucent, I fade
Wander in a daze
Lazily down hazy lanes
Endless coloured ways
Colour drains from leaves
Dripping into the gutter
Winter washed and ret
As two worlds collide
Dredging worries from inside
Let faith defeat fear
