A new day a new haiku
Under cold blankets
Green shoots us a reminder
Spring will spring again
We flow with the tide
Follow the restless moon’s pull
From mud to river
As dawn breaks the ice
Snow scatters every soft shade
Cosy illusions
No one could regret
Taking the time to forget
Watching the sun set
Muffled morning air
Silently steady. A rare
Hem shedding a tear
Can you balance moons
From the root to the turret
Just by standing still
Over my shoulder
I can feel your spectral warmth
Guide me though woodlands
Tangled upside down
And turned myself inside out
Peace just out of reach
The icy cold moon
Curled up in a cloud cocoon
She will be full soon
A fallen causeway
Zigs and zags the windy bay
Divides blue from grey
We swam in these bays
Tramped and climbed the mountain ways
Happy golden days
Sunlight rose water
Feel this pure pull that caught her
Wind blew, we falter
Step out to nowhere
Sink into a murky mire
Water level rising
The long white cloud lies
Over time fabled mountains
Shield us from the storm
Westerly wind whips
Creamy crashing crests into
Fluffy frothy foam
Tides drag us apart
The only ties that bind us
Are names carved in wood
The lines on this face
Draw a perfect picture of
The lives in this place
Wild wind washes waves
Though deep tunnels and dark caves
Learning to be brave
Single shingle splash
Shakes my solitary perch
Turn my silver back
Wind round by this way
Over the hill, far away
Wonder why this bay
Swamp drains out to sea
Mountains shake, an open key
What do you mean, free?
Gentle breeze brushes
Fern fronds from my view, and lo
Gold treasure appears
Oceans surround us
Feed, clean, cool and connect us
Survive becomes thrive
Stunted beech huddle
Close to the peak. Bare roots lead
Us to elven realms
