A new day a new haiku

Every open bloom Welcomes hungry visitors In exchange for fruit
Springtime soon gives way Summer marches into May Savour every day
Blossom’s sweet promise Held in a perfect moment Inevitable
Despite the howling Deep within the dark forest Buried hope still lies
Between wood and tree Between roaring waves and sea Between eye and me
I can’t see the wood I can’t even see the trees Right in front of me
Celandine sunshine Enshrines divine alpine vines Lifelines intertwine
Silent scavenger Picking up discarded scraps Scraping out a life
Weave between the trees Sail across deep blue bell seas Dirt upon our knees
We have dug each hole Cleaned and polished every bowl Let the good times roll
Dusky cherry blooms Imbibing ultraviolet Light headed we swoon
With shovel and spade Polish the earth into shape Groom with broom and rake
