A new day a new haiku
A million stems
Each the same, all different
Evenly diverse
New grass, green and bright
Growing in the afternoon
Clear and clean and light
Wavy seas of grass
Their heavy heads sway and bend
Hazy seeds of brass
May your days be full
Of sunshine and happiness
The merriest month
Clear crystals crackle
Take the blade to the whet stone
Let time do his work
The scythe slides softly
With gentle grace, through the grass
Sunshine alchemy
Lie in the long grass
Supported by sharp green blades
A premonition
In the long green grass
Longing for greener fields and
Longer days to stay
Calico clouds cry
A fine mist in the moonlight
Why do we ask why?
Happy golden days
Arise as memories fade
A phoenix from flames
Through my clouded eyes
Warm shadows streak cream canvas
The longest of days
Fears drown confidence
Tears wash away memories
Years distill to joy
Whatever I give
It has been given to me
I can’t begrudge it
Roam the countryside
Somewhere my roots can take hold
Where do I belong?
As time drips away
Seconds to hours to days
There is no present
Into the distance
Between green fields and grey clouds
I’m still holding on
Without a winter
There would be no autumn leaves
To burn up my heart
Crisp autumn morning
Cool breath filling my nostrils
Let my spirit free
To simplify
To remove the cruft
To simply be
Green fields of England
My natural habitat
Alien to some
Storm flavoured sunset
Spread thickly on the long grass
I am not enough
Lowly fog rolling
Wet blades sharp in the twilight
Silence reigns supreme
You hide and I’ll seek
Deep down in the yellow creek
To the highest peak
Misty Yorkshire fog
From fox’s tail to cock’s foot
Rescue sheep’s fescue
