A new day a new haiku

Happiness is home You don’t know that you were there Until you have left
Springtime flourishes In a jungle of colour Between rain showers
If the frost touches The fragile apple blossom Autumn’s fruits will fail
Colours bind our eyes To new beauty and old lives Cuts us down to size
Though they look the same Each one’s a little different And there is no best
We should make the most Of this September sunshine Before its too late
I wish I could shine If only for just one day And then fade away
Paper thin flowers Will suspend their disbelief Until the sun dies
Before these grey stones Became ancient castle walls The same flowers grew
