A new day a new haiku

by
A final flourish Before we fall to the ground And go round again
Everything turns grey All the colour drains away Falling failing fade
One day all must fall Released to the stoney ground Finally we’re free
Without a winter There would be no autumn leaves To burn up my heart
Ash and chestnut stripped And these rusty old oak leaves Are all that remain
Turning leaves cling on Yet the sun has slipped away And rain has set in
Late autumn sunshine Turns the hedgerow slowly brown Falling fast and free
