A new day a new haiku

Spring is never late It comes just as it’s ready And it always comes
Cramped catkins uncurl Signalling spring’s subtle shift Running to stand still
Carry me away On an airy breath of wind Bury me in sand
Green caterpillars Swinging from pillar to post Reigning scatter kings
Discarded catkins Flotsam in a fluffy fog Floating fast and free
The catkins unfurl Like sheep’s tails swing in the breeze And birds will come back
Fuzzy evening light Illuminates new catkins In a final glow
