A new day a new haiku
Following the line
To where twisted brambles climb
Running out of time
Bramble tendrils wind
Distant planets intertwine
There’s always a sign
Betwixt sky and earth
The glory of last year fades
Next year’s start to grow
Brambles start to rust
And then vanish in a gust
Summer turns to dust
Did life pass us by
Run away from us again
While we were waiting?
As our lives lengthen
Such complex threads intertwine
Embrace the chaos
Roots run wild below
While vaulted bramble arches
Fan feral above
Where we abandon
Brambly tendrils will encroach
Restless pioneers
